Shit Movie Club is a series of media student events started by Vertti and Burak in 2023, and currently continued by Lu. It is a communal project, where everyone in the community is welcome to suggest and organize the screening. Though it has never been an official part of DADA (the media student association), DADA board 2023 and 2024 have warmly supported the Shit Movie Club activities.
Through the presentation and exhibition, we will recap our shit watching activities and share our thoughts regarding some important questions: what constitutes the “shitness” of a film?
Moreover, we would like to thank Fiona, Mikael, and Jonna from DADA board 2024 and all the support from the community. Though “Shit Movie Club” may seem to be the least “productive” project on Demo Day, through the lens of queering, we want to celebrate the seemingly “unproductive” labor in community building and caring.
