I will talk about my recently published PhD thesis “Intergroup contact with participatory telerobotic puppetry”, where I created a cross-border telerobotic puppet theater with Israeli and Palestinian participants. Can technology blend seamlessly with participatory art, augmenting it, but preserving the agency of the participants? I will show how we tried to do that with the puppet theater and then reflect about the future integration of AI into participatory art.
