Singing Cello – A New Approach to Composing Music

This presentation explores a small part of Google’s Magenta Project called Tone Transfer. It offers new affordances for sound designers and composers in order to compose music in a completely new style: singing to generate ready-made audio with a little help from deep learning.
The presentation will demonstrate practical application of Tone Transfer with two different, short compositions made as part of studies in Aalto University, and introduce the machine learning algorithms used on a high level.
