Aevitas [n.]: “eternity,” “age,” or “everlasting time.” A sense of timelessness and continuity, referring to the infinite expanse of time or existence.
Our game explores atrophy, loss, and acceptance through an atmospheric platforming journey. The goal of the project was to create a short, handcrafted, emotional experience that uses mechanical loss as narrative progression.
Aevitas: Last Light was created by a team of Master’s students in Aalto University’s Game Project I course.
The game was developed over the span of three months by a multidisciplinary team of five working in programming, design, art, animation and music. This project is our collaborative effort to explore narrative, atmosphere, and artistic game design within a compact development scope.
